Subject: ImageTrend sync issues

 Attention ImageTrend Users,

Multiple users have been having issues with ImageTrend Elite on their iPads. Issues will occur during the sync process (an error message or a freeze up). The workaround at the this time is the following:

General > Settings > Safari > “Clear History and Website Data

This will make the next sync process in Elite take a long time but will eventually work. (Suggest using a faster connection if available)

The technical jargon (for those interested):

The reason this occurs is that the Safari browser cache is becoming full (browser storage). This usually happens on iPads that utilize BOTH ImageTrend Elite EPCR AND Inspections (as both sections have an enormous amount of data to store). Clearing the cache empties all prior cached data from both EPCR and Inspections. For now, possibly sticking to one module on the iPad would prevent this issue. EPCR on the iPad and Inspections on the computer for example.

ImageTrend Elite support has informed us this is a flaw on Apple’s end and one of the next major IOS updates will allow us to increase the Safari cache size versus the default small unchangeable size. For now, clearing the cache and sticking to one module would likely work as a the best workaround.
